This is what a 1978 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance looks like if it spends it's entire life on the mean streets of the East Village. At one point this was the top-of-the-line for Cadillac; only the Series 75 Limousine was mightier during those disco and quaalude-soaked days. This example must have turned a few heads in what looks to be Seamist Green with the white padded vinyl roof. Now, however, it is the hooptie of all hoopties as it wanders back and forth across the same street doing the alternate side shuffle.
Let's take stock:
No hubcaps (but it manages to have whitewalls!)
Only 1 tiny section of the side trim remains between the passenger door and the front wheel.
Both mirrors WORKED but clinging on for dear life.
Both rear fender extensions missing (common Caddy troubles)
and of course the very discreet window treatment.
Bonus points go to the owner who made the attempt at using green tape for mirror and window repairs; blends right in!
I've noticed this behemoth for years in the same area where these pics were snapped and thought it would be the perfect candidate to launch this blog.
